Fred Hammond's New Album!

Postby musiclovesryan » Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:52 pm

I am a true fan of Mr. Fred Hammond and I really think he is such a wonderful and spiritual man :) I was definitely eager to pick up his latest album with various artists this morning and let me tell you...these artists truly have a gift! Has anyone picked it up yet or at least previewed the tracks on i tunes? http://bit.ly/bGICsI
What are some of your favorite tracks off this album? Personally, I am really digging Hammond's "Dwelling Place" but Lawson's song is pretty moving too

Ouch ! so harsh.

ryan has been on the board before. I think he's changed his user name again. If you recall he likes more of the US R&B style music ie Usher, Raheem Devaughn, etc

Fred Hammond is a gospel singer. idk if some of you UKers will understand this music, unless you attend a Baptist church

A lot of jazz musicians play at churches that perform this type of gospel music. If you listen to the rhythm (bass and drums) you will hear it.

NP Danny :)

Rams ... talking with some of the cats in my area ... a lot of jazz musician hang around churches. Its almost like a practice gig. They get to practice on their instruments, and experiment with new sounds..etc. Some guys will work for 2-3 churches.

sorry my post...drinking...lol

Naw what I was trying to say a lot of musicians perform with church groups. It's an easy/convenient way for them to practice. But still provide great music for the congregation.
