Maysa Live @ the Birchmere

Postby harronevoria » Fri Jan 27, 2012 5:11 pm

20yrs ago I was sitting in my Teacher Educ. class. Yeah I studied to be an Educator. I was thinking about what I would write my lesson plans around. My Professor handed me this Jazz textbook book that she had in the department library. Inside there was a section on jazz funk that included this movement from the UK. I was so geeked, I based my lessons on that.

I was so geeked when Maysa asked me to send her some photos I had taken of her at The Birchmere. For years I would sit in on her sessions learning how to use my D50 with various lenses I borrowed from her photographer. Since moving to D90 I became one of her main photographers.

This is a 3 CD set that includes two live CDs and one CD filled with my photos and another photographer. This set looks like an LP cover but inside is three cds. Also, Maysa printed a 2 CD set and my photos appear in the inside cd jacket. :excited: I forgot to ask her why she chose the LP cover to house the cds. But it really looks cool. Maysa's Live at the Birchmere can only be purchased at her shows.

Great work Harron! Capturing the spirit of Maysa's live performance takes a knowing eye. I think you and the D90 have a D-licious collaboration going on.
Congrats and continued exposure of your artistry.

Freedom to love. Use it daily.

Thanks Stephen ! I'm truly having fun with this camera.

I'm hoping Maysa will have this live cd available online. It is really becoming one of my favorite live cds. The quality is excellent. What I like most about it is that it sounds like a bootleg.. meaning that her engineer let the recording play though. You get to hear Maysa joke and connect with the audience a lot. More so than most live recordings. She has two sets a musicians performing.

Hi everyone,

Wow!!! Thanks for posting this pics. - I made the design of Maysa's live CD and 12inch cover with 3 CDs inside.
I made her new Logo too.
I'm so thankful that I had the chance to work with such a great artist like her! :D
Now I hope that she'll sell this CD online very soon.

Many greets from Germany,
Ralf
