Last Friday night at Islington Assembly Hall was the BEST ever - of (we think it is...

) the six times we have now seen Incognito live in London, in as many years.
The Cogs played for over 2.5 hours. Non stop pure energy! I was exhausted and hoarse by the end!!
The reappearances of Imanni, Tony Momrelli and Chris Botti were a wonderful suprise, but I also love the new / three current vocalists - especially when they sang harmnoies. I thought it was some of the best singing I'd ever heard. Sorry, I can't remember their names... but Natalie (I think it is?), with the dyed red hair, is really good....
And then appeared Mario Biondi... 'This Is What You Are' just simply tore the roof off for 7 wonderful minutes.... and later Mario did 'Low Down'... awesome!!
I can't begin to do justice to the 10 minute drum and percussion solo by the new drummer and percussionist (again, I didn't quite catch their names). I have yet to find film of their solo on the web. I hope someone filmed it? They are both great new addiditions to the band.
We think some of the Cogs' classic tunes sounded their best ever, particularly 'Nights Over Egypt'...
I'd love to know if Bluey and Co did get fined for going over the Curfew for the Assembly Hall ... they didn't clear the stage until c.11.20pm....
A lovely venue, too. A bit warm... and the sound was not great... but hey I'm being picky here!
All in all, it was THE BEST EVER Incognito live gig!! Thank you to Bluey, the whole band, AGMP, and anyone else involved.
(PS: Just a shame we were held up in traffic and didn't get to seek out CJ from this Forum in The Vineyard bar opposite before the gig. We'd love to meet some of you at the next gig....)
