Tubbs was a great player, if you ever get chance to hear "The Warriors" set, you will see him at full stretch. Rest in peace Tubbs.

This is such terrible news, I'm finding it difficult to find the right words. Rest in peace, Paul - you were much loved and you will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with your family and loved ones and also those whos spirits have been lifted by your wondeful talent; they will be deeply saddened by your passing as I am.

Journey well, Tubbs

I thought it would be fitting to link to these wonderful pictures of Tubbs and Bluey back in the early 80's.

I have something special that you can listen to.
Its an interview that was done in October by DJ Funk-A-Nots in the Netherlands for Soulfiles as a Britfunk special just before the Reunion show at the Jazz Cafe. It features Tubbs, Camelle Hinds and Kenny Wellington.

It was the last time the guys were talking publically about the exciting things that had happened and were about to happen in all their lives.

I want to share this with you as a dedication to Tubbs and his awesome presence as you will hear.

:( Hi everyone. Well as you probably know I don't post much these days but this is such sad news,I felt the urge to write. I didn't know Tubbs personally, nor was fortunate enough to have met him during his life time, but his influence as both a bass player and integral part of the early brit funk/LOTW/Incognito/Warriors sound has been a constant throughout my ongoing discovery of music. From the first time I heard the Jazz Funk album, to the subsequent dicovery of Warriors 'Behind The Mask' album after reading about it on these very pages just 5 or 6 years ago,my admiration of Tubbs' technical ability, input, and all round sound has been, and will always continue to be huge.

His loss as a musician, and I'm sure to those who knew him, as a friend and colleague, will surely be great.

Tubbs, I didn't know you, but I will definitely miss you mate. I'll be playing Jazz Funk & Behind The Mask (particularly 'Destination') at full blast this weekend.

Rest In Peace, and keep it funky up there.

Jonathan
