Who all played on Jazzfunk?

Postby njsgibson » Sat Jan 20, 2007 12:46 am

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere but I couldn't find it in the archives...

I'm just wondering who the personnel was on Incognito's first album Jazzfunk? I vaguely remember seeing on a vinyl copy it listed who was playing on each track, but the information on the CD release only says who wrote the various tracks. Can anyone help? I'd love to know. :)

Bluey or the Dufster, or CJ has got this one.

All I know Paul Tubbs played on the CD.

Additional notes by Bluey:
The track "Smile of a child" was written in celebration of my first born Daniel and sung by fellow L.O.T.W singer Gee Bello with background vocals from my sister Danielle.
My original Incognito partner Paul "Tubbs" Williams did return to play bass on "Better Days" in the 90's. Louise Bostock sang "Chase the clouds away". And the rest of the vocals were shared by Tubbs and myself.

On some of the CD versions Tessa Niles is the featured vocalist on "North London Boys" and "Second Chance On Love".

Vin Gordon formerly of the Wailers and countless Jamaican recordings plays Trombone. South African Peter Segona on tour with Hugh Masakela's band sought political assylum in Great Britain and Jazz Funk was one of his first sessions in the UK. The Album was writen, recorded and mixed in a 2 week period at the now defunct Jam studio in Finsbury Park London.
